MUKAH, PMU : 18 October 2024 - The General Studies Department (JPA) successfully hosted its Public Speaking Competition on October 18, 2024, aimed at enhancing English proficiency, discovering new public speaking talent, and building self-confidence among students.
This year's event featured a distinguished jury, including Mr. Bolkhan Bin Median from SMK Oya and Madam Stephanie Jee from SMK Three River.
In an inspiring display of talent, Suzyiana Binti Sophian from the Mechanical Department (JKM) emerged as the winner, impressing both the judges and the audience with her articulate delivery and stage presence. Calvee Clare Casey Andrew from the Commerce Department (JP) secured the first runner-up position, while fellow Commerce student Maria Emily Bong took home the title of second runner-up.
The prize-giving ceremony was led by Mr. Mohamad Sobri Bin Suhaili, Head of the General Studies Department, who commended all participants for their courage and dedication. The competition showcased not only the students' oratory skills but also their growth in confidence, furthering the department's commitment to nurturing future leaders.
